Goodleaf Tree Climbing launch unique 3 day tree climbing course

Award winning Goodleaf Tree Climbing, the UK’s recreational tree climbing specialist have added an innovative new course to their portfolio of tree climbing experiences.

A ‘first’ for Europe, Essential Recreational Tree Climbing (ERTC) is a three day recreational tree climbing course aimed at complete beginners.  No knowledge of technical tree climbing is needed; the course will teach you how to climb large trees with ropes and harness and allow you to experience the magic of tree top life.  The course has been written by Paul McCathie from Goodleaf in conjunction with Lantra Awards.

Ideal for anyone with an interest in trees, climbing or who simply wants to learn a fascinating and unusual new skill, ERTC takes place on peaceful farm land in the rural heart of the Isle of Wight within easy travelling distance of ferries.

Paul McCathie, Goodleaf’s founder says “We got many requests for a more detailed course from both our regular customers and members of the general public. ERTC is in depth, but delivered in our usual chilled out Goodleaf style with an emphasis on enjoyment as well as learning. By working with Lantra Awards we can give our climbers confidence in the skills they are learning. “

According to Kerry Lees, who was one of the first ERTC students; “I had no experience at climbing trees the way arborists do, so this was a great way to learn! The course was well run at a relaxed pace and was very informative. The flapjack was great too!”

ERTC is taught in small groups with a maximum of four participants. Goodleaf have lined up discounts with some of their favourite accommodation providers and a local ferry operator for anyone taking part. A full schedule of available course dates and more details can be found on the Goodleaf website: www.goodleaf.co.uk/3daytreeclimbingcourse
